Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources & Payroll Specialist to support core HR operations with a strong focus on payroll, HR systems, and multi-state compliance.
This role plays a critical part in supporting a large seasonal workforce by ensuring accurate payroll processing, reliable HRIS data, efficient onboarding and offboarding, and consistent compliance practices across all employee groups. This position serves as the primary system administrator for our HRIS (Paycom) and reports directly to the Human Resources Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing: Process payroll accurately and on time, partnering closely with onboarding and payroll stakeholders.HRIS Administration: Maintain and update employee data in Paycom, perform system integrity checks, audits, and support process improvements across modules.Timekeeping & Scheduling: Partner with operations leaders to ensure accurate time tracking, punch compliance, break adherence, and scheduling accuracy.Reporting & Analytics: Prepare regular payroll, time variance, audit, and leadership reports, including data for invoices and board-level review.Onboarding & Offboarding: Support employee onboarding, orientation, and separation processes, including system-generated offers, documentation, and access coordination.Benefits & Leave Support: Assist with benefits administration, enrollments, terminations, leave management, and open enrollment activities.Compliance: Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, multi-state payroll tax administration, and internal HR policies.
Employee Support: Serve as a resource for employees and managers regarding payroll, HR procedures, and benefits questions.Training & Documentation: Conduct system training on Paycom modules and maintain accurate HR documentation.
Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the HR Manager on audits, projects, and initiatives to improve HR operational efficiency.
Qualifications
2-4 years of experience in HR and payroll, preferably supporting multi-state operations with seasonal or temporary staff.Hands-on experience with an HRIS and payroll platform (Paycom strongly preferred).Experience serving as a system administrator for HR or payroll systems.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage deadlines.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Ability to work full-time from a home office within the United States.Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.

Annual Range: $60,000 - $72,500 per year
