About The Role

The Technical Support Engineer at Putzmeister is a vital link between our customers, dealers, and internal teams. This role focuses on enhancing customer satisfaction by providing expert technical assistance, resolving product issues, and supporting the deployment of new product features and updates. The successful candidate will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing departments to analyze product failures, develop repair procedures, and facilitate training programs. This position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining Putzmeister’s high standards of quality and safety. The role involves visiting customer sites and dealers to gather insights, analyze root causes of product failures, and implement effective solutions, thereby ensuring our products perform optimally in diverse operational environments.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and be adaptable to a manufacturing environment. Self-motivation, independence, and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential. Candidates should have the ability to interpret engineering drawings, safety protocols, and technical manuals, along with excellent communication skills for writing reports and presenting information to diverse audiences. Proficiency in mathematical concepts such as probability, statistics, geometry, and trigonometry is required for data analysis and troubleshooting. Knowledge of SAP and CAD software is advantageous, alongside proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, or Welding disciplines, or an Associate's Degree with relevant experience. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

Respond promptly to customer requests for technical support via verbal, written, or in-person communication channels. Develop comprehensive structural repair procedures to address structural issues effectively. Obtain and analyze component failure data from PM-Germany and key suppliers related to warranty claims. Assist in developing and conducting boom inspection training and welding certification programs for internal teams and dealers. Compile and distribute detailed product problem reports to engineering and customer support teams to facilitate continuous improvement. Conduct site visits to dealers and customers to gather insights on product failures, root causes, and potential solutions. Create and distribute Service Information Bulletins and Letters to inform dealers and customers about upcoming product updates, technical notices, and improvements. Stay informed on the latest engineering developments and innovations relevant to customer support and product performance. Provide technical guidance to Field Service and Technical Support teams to ensure they are equipped with accurate and current product information. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment daily, adhering to safety standards and company policies. Travel domestically up to 30% to support customer and dealer needs. Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting the overall success of the department and organization.
