About The Role

The Customer Service Representative – Inside Sales position at Coastal is a vital support role designed to assist sales teams and customers effectively. This role involves providing comprehensive support to ensure customer needs are met swiftly and accurately, fostering long-term relationships and enhancing customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for clients, handling inquiries, resolving concerns, and offering product or service recommendations tailored to the specific needs of our clients. This position requires excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to customer engagement. The role also plays a key part in supporting sales colleagues during peak times or absences, ensuring seamless service delivery across all customer touchpoints.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of two years of experience in outside foodservice sales coordination or customer support is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally. Proficiency in basic computer applications and familiarity with common office tools are essential. The candidate should be adept at working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and demonstrating resilience and resourcefulness in handling changing priorities. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude towards personal and organizational growth are also important for success in this role.

Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative at Coastal, your primary responsibility is to deliver exceptional service to our clients while maintaining professionalism and ensuring their satisfaction. You will handle a variety of customer requests, including administrative duties such as processing key pick-up requests, managing transportation and routing inquiries, and processing will-call orders. Providing customers with invoice copies, handling credit requests, and supporting new customer onboarding are also key responsibilities. You will be responsible for answering general incoming calls, addressing customer concerns, and maintaining ongoing communication with clients, sales colleagues, and interdepartmental teams. Fully trained with expert product knowledge and system fluency, you will contribute to interdepartmental collaboration and support training of new colleagues. In the absence of sales consultants, you will step in to ensure continuous customer support, acting as a reliable point of contact.

You will also play a crucial role in account management, owning specific customer accounts to foster growth and retention. This involves developing impactful customer experiences, managing sales territories, and partnering with departments such as merchandising and operations to meet customer needs effectively. Additionally, you will be responsible for training new team members, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed. Other duties may include supporting sales initiatives, contributing to process improvements, and performing tasks as directed by management to support overall organizational goals.
