About The Role

The Senior Business Analyst within the OPS ITS - Project Management Office is a key contributor responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. This role partners with both business stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements, analyze processes, and design effective solutions aligned with organizational goals. The Senior Business Analyst leads requirements gathering sessions, performs gap analysis, and documents current and future state processes. They oversee testing phases, manage defect resolutions, and ensure successful implementation of projects. Additionally, this role involves preparing training materials, conducting presentations, and acting as a liaison to facilitate clear communication between stakeholders. The Senior Business Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring that technology implementations meet business needs and support the university’s strategic objectives.

Qualifications

Minimum of a college or university degree in a related field.2-5 years of relevant work experience in business analysis or related disciplines.Experience in requirements elicitation, process analysis, and solution design.Proficiency in developing test plans, test cases, and managing defect tracking and remediation.Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle senior-level expectations.Ability to conduct business process analyses, needs assessments, and cost/benefit analyses with moderate supervision.Knowledge of university systems and the ability to recommend system enhancements or alternatives.Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in programming, computer science, or related fields.Preferred: 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, functional writing, and requirements elicitation.Preferred: Experience in developing training materials and conducting user acceptance testing.Preferred: Certification from the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Serve as a core member of the University Systems team, providing functional support for university applications.Perform comprehensive business analysis, including requirements gathering, process documentation, and gap analysis.Evaluate existing business processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend effective solutions.Maintain detailed business process documentation throughout the project lifecycle.Lead and facilitate requirement gathering sessions, workshops, and interviews with stakeholders.Prepare and deliver presentations to communicate findings, solutions, and project updates.Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure clear understanding and alignment.Manage test plans, test cases, and oversee defect management and remediation processes.Lead user acceptance testing and secure final approval for project deliverables.Develop training materials and conduct training sessions as needed for end-users.Ensure solutions meet business needs and conform to established standards and procedures.Stay updated on evolving business requirements, new IT developments, and recommend system enhancements.Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives and support project documentation efforts.Perform additional duties as assigned to support project success and organizational goals.
